Boston & FableVision Studios

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Boston on vacation. I couldn't help but take that chance to stop by and check out FableVision Studios  while I was in town. I had met Paul Reynolds , CEO of FableVision, at a conference a few years back and so it was great being able to connect again.  I love the work they do at FableVision and also the children's books by FableVision founder, Peter Reynolds , are some of my all-time favourites with such amazing stories, like The Dot , Ish and Sky Color . So I was excited to see the creative hub where it all comes together. Paul showed me around the studio and I also had a chance to meet Gary Goldberger , President of FableVision. It was such a nice visit and what a great view they have, on the 6th floor of the Boston Children's Museum, of the Boston Harbour.  Thank you Paul and Gary for taking time out of your day to show me around and connect.  Wishing you all a very successful International Dot Da...

Victoria Day Weekend 2014

This weekend I was lucky enough to spend the Victoria Day long weekend up in the Muskokas. Such beautiful scenery and rock formations I couldn't help but do a couple quick sketches while I was there… Both images were sketched in pencil and coloured using watercolour pencils. I would love to play around with the second one a little more, adding colour and building up the scene a little more, so you may see this drawing again in the future :) Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend and cheers to a great week ahead!

Days of Summer...

Well the last official day of summer 2011 is upon us and I must say it was a busy but enjoyable season. I had the pleasure of visiting my friend at her family cottage last month and I took a few photos while I was there. It was so peaceful and relaxing on the lake with only a few other cottages who share the water. A perfect vacation from the city. One of my favourite things about summertime is waking up early to enjoy my morning coffee by the stillness of the lake. So calming and peaceful with the warmth of the coffee paired with the warmth of the early morning. For me, the photo below captures this moment perfectly. By the Lake - Summer  Desktop Background  - 2011 I have made this image my current desktop background and I am really enjoying it. Please feel free to do the same and try this image out as the desktop background on your own computer. You will be happy you did. -  I hope everyone had a great ...

Cheers to Spring - Plant Post

It may not have felt like it with the slight bit of snow floating around but spring is officially here! I must say my plants are really feelin it. I just noticed today that hidden amongst the leaves of my peace lily is its first spring bloom... And ofcourse the plant who I call "Little Palm" never disappoints - he has some new leaves on the way and getting awkwardly taller each day... I wish I could say the same for this guy below. He's gradually been getting smaller for the past couple months. I figured a repotting was in order (also demoting him to a smaller pot in the process) and I don't think he's gotten over it. Only one vine remains... Luckily I anticipated this and I did a bit of damage control before the repotting... the offshoots are doing well and ready to be repotted, let's just hope that I can pull it off... Hope you've enjoyed my random plant post! Cheers to the first day of spring and to the warm weather ahead ~
